Maoists pelt stones to Health minister
 

Cadres of Unified CPN (Maoist) pelted stones to Health Minister Umakanta Chaudhary in Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur district on Monday (March 8). Chaudhary had reached Mahendranagar for an inspection visit of Mahakali Zonal Hospital.

In the fight in the hospital premises, four policemen, including Kanchanpur Police Chief SP Pawan Prasad Kharel, have been injured.


Head constable Mohan Singh Chaucir and two constables, Bhimsingh Dhami and Diwansingh Ngari, were also injured in the incident.

The police used five rounds of tear gas in the hospital area. The cadres escaped after police opened lathi charge at them.
