International Women's Day observed
 

The 100th International Womens Day has been observed with the slogan 'Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities: Progress for All' by organising various organizations with the different programmes throughout the nation on Monday (March 8).

 

Various organisations working for women's welfare have organized rallies, seminars, interactions and assemblies to mark the International Womens Day.

Women ministry has organized a mass rally and an assembly comprising of representatives of various women organisations at Bhirkutimandap.

 

Likewise, the women wing of major political parties including the Unified CPN (Maoist) and CPN (UML) also organized the  organising separate programmes today. The government has declared Monday a public holiday on the occasion of International Women's Day.


The International Women's Day is observed throughout the world on March 8. It was first observed on March 8, 1910.
