Two killed in wedding shootout in Siraha

Two people were killed and five injured in a shootout that took place during a wedding ceremony at Majhouliya-6 of Siraha district on Monday night.

The deceased have been identified as Dilip Sah, 22,  of Mirchaiya and Jitendra Bhandari, 12, of Majhouliya-7 while they died on the way to hospital for treatment.

The marriage ceremony at the residen of Ram Pati Thakur of Majhauliya-7 turned into a virtual battle ground at around 10 last night after a clash broke out between two groups--bride and groom--leading to the shootout.

Police seized a home-made pistol from the incident site and arrested five people in connection with the incident.
